Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sifted all purpose flour measured before sifting
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Put flour, sugar and baking powder in a bowl.
  2. Beat one egg by hand and add to flour mixture then beat well by hand.
  3. Grease square baking dish with butter.
  4. Skin, core and slice apples thinly and place in bottom of dish until bottom is covered.
  5. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 2 tablespoons sugar.
  6. Pour flour mixture over the top.
  7. Cut little pieces of butter and dot top of mixture with butter.
  8. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons water over top of mixture.
  9. Bake at 350 until top is crisp and apples are done about 45 minutes.
