APPLE PUDDING This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Printy Estate in Dallas, Texas in 1986.
Ingredients:
1 cup sifted all purpose flour measured before sifting
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
4 baking apples
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Directions:
1. Put flour, sugar and baking powder in a bowl.
2. Beat one egg by hand and add to flour mixture then beat well by hand.
3. Grease square baking dish with butter.
4. Skin, core and slice apples thinly and place in bottom of dish until bottom is covered.
5. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 2 tablespoons sugar.
6. Pour flour mixture over the top.
7. Cut little pieces of butter and dot top of mixture with butter.
8. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons water over top of mixture.
9. Bake at 350 until top is crisp and apples are done about 45 minutes.
