Ingredients:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
  2. Grease an 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking dish. Set aside.
  3. For Topping: Place all the topping ingredients in a food processor and process until the mixture is crumbly and there are no large pieces of butter visible. Set aside while you prepare the filling.
  4. Place apples in a large bowl, along with the berries and lemon zest (if using), and add the brown sugar. Gently combine and then transfer to your prepared baking dish spread the topping evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake for approximately 35-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool for about 30 minutes before serving.
  7. Serve with softly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
