Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Grease 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan
  3. Sifter together flour, baking soda, and salt
  4. In a large bowl, cream shortening, sugar, and eggs.
  5. Blend in flour mixture
  6. Add apples, milk and vanilla
  7. Pour into greased 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan
  8. Mix cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle on batter
  9. Bake in 350 degree oven for 60 minutes
