Anise Hyssop Tea Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 anise hyssop fresh edible flower, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Grease and flour a standard loaf or bread pan.
  3. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream butter with sugar till fluffy, then add lemon rind, flowers and the beaten eggs and beat mixture just till thoroughly combined.
  5. Stir in lemon juice.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients and nuts, mixing till blended.
  7. Spoon into prepared pan and bake for 50 to 55 minutes.
  8. Cool on rack.
