Ingredients:

  • 1 pint milk
  • 1 mixing spoon lard
  • 8 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm water.

Directions:

  1. Scald milk and lard in quart dish.
  2. Fill dish with cold water.
  3. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
  4. Mix all together and let rise overnight.
  5. Cut down and let rise again.
  6. Cut down again and shape into loaves.
  7. Let rise in pans until double its size and bake in 350 oven for one hour.
