Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Toss the shanks in the flour and brown them in a pan on both sides (use a little olive oil).
  2. Combine all the other ingredients into a large casserole dish.
  3. Push the shanks into the combined mixture, ensuring it is covered with liquid.
  4. Salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Bake in a medium oven (150 C) for 3 hours.
  6. Serve with potato or risotto and some green beans.
  7. You can add your favourite herb - I love rosemary with this dish.
