The Best Sweet & Sour Baked Beans

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 2 (16 oz) cans butter beans
  • 1 (16 oz) can lima beans
  • 1 (16 oz) can dark red kidney beans
  • 1 (16 oz) can pork and beans (use vegetarian baked beans if making vegetarian version of this recipe)

Directions:

  1. Fry bacon until crisp. Remove and crumble.
  2. Add onions to grease and add sugar, mustard, salt, and vinegar.
  3. Cover and cook on stovetop for 20 minutes.
  4. Drain all beans except pork and beans.
  5. Add beans to cooked mixture and pour into a 3 quart casserole dish.
  6. Bake at 350°F for one hour.
  7. Remove from oven and top with crumbled bacon.
