Sweet Potato Biscuit

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp clove
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, mix sweet potato and butter.
  4. Add the flour mixture to the potato mixture and mix to make a soft dough.
  5. Add milk to the mixture and continue to cut inches.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a floured board and toss lightly until the outside of the dough looks smooth.
  7. Place the biscuits on a greased pan and coat with melted butter.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes.
  9. (Watch your oven: If the biscuits are browning too fast, lower the temperature.
