Spicy Almond Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 cups flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Beat eggs and honey together.
  3. Add cream and butter.
  4. Stir in ground almonds, cloves, and anise.
  5. Sift flour and baking powder.
  6. Stir into batter until well blended.
  7. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan.
  8. Bake for about 1 hour, or until tester comes out clean.
  9. Cool on a rack.
  10. Don't slice until the next day, then slice very thin.
