Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 lb salt pork
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt (optional)
  • 1/8 tsp pepper (optional)

Directions:

  1. Combine shredded cabbage, water, salt pork, and sugar in a large Dutch oven. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 20 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Drain well. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
