  1. Place all ingredients in saucepan and simmer covered, very slowly, and as many hours as desired. If it gets too thick, just add a bit of water.
  2. This recipe is simply a base . Try many different spices, different amounts of tomatoes and onion, perhaps adding diced bell peppers or even hotter peppers. Make it your own!
