Scalloped Potatoes With Fresh Herbs And Sour Cream

Ingredients:

  • 6 medium potatoes
  • 2 small onions
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped fresh basil
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped fresh chives
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh thyme
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh oregano
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Directions:

  1. Peel and finely slice potatoes and onions
  2. Melt butter at medium heat
  3. Add flour, salt, pepper, and minced garlic, cook and stir for 2 minutes
  4. Add milk and stir constantly until mixture just starts to boil
  5. Take off heat and mix in fresh herbs and sour cream
  6. Layer half the potatoes and onions in a caserole dish, cover with sauce, lifting it a bit here and there so the sauce gets all through it, repeat with second half of potatoes, onions and sauce
  7. Cover and bake at 350 F for 1 hour
  8. Remove cover and bake for another 1/2 hour
