Sausage, Egg and Cheese Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb sausage
  • 1 cup chopped onion (optional)
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices bread, cubed
  • 2 tbsp margarine

Directions:

  1. Cook sausage and onion until done; break into small pieces. Drain and set aside.
  2. Combine eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and mustard into mixing bowl. Mix well.
  3. Grease a 13 x 9 inch casserole dish with the butter or margarine.
  4. Layer the cubed bread, sausage, and 1/2 cup cheese into dish.
  5. Pour in the egg mixture and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  6. Bake uncovered in preheated oven at 350 for 45 minute.
  7. This recipe can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated prior to baking.
