Saucy Steamy Caramel Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 250 ml (1 cup) cake flour
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) sugar
  • 250 ml (1 cup) milk
  • 25 ml (2 tbsp) vinegar or brandy
  • 12 ml (1 tbsp) apricot jam, fine
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) baking powder
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • pinch of salt
  • 250 ml (1 cup) sugar
  • 250 ml (1 cup) ideal milk
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) butter
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) vanilla essence

Directions:

  1. DOUGH:
  2. Beat the egg and sugar together until light.
  3. Beat in the flour, vinegar/brandy, jam, baking powder, baking soda and salt until smooth.
  4. Gradually beat in the milk.
  5. Pour in a square, greased dish.
  6. Bake for 50 minutes at 180 degrees C (360 deg F).
  7. SAUCE:
  8. Put everything into a saucepan over medium heat.
  9. Stir until sugar and butter are melted.
  10. Take pudding out of oven.
  11. Using a fork, make tiny holes in pudding for absorbing of the sauce.
  12. Pour the sauce over hot pudding.
  13. Serve hot with ice-cream, whipped cream or cream just like that or custard.
