Ingredients:

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup salt (without any non-caking ingredients)
  • some minced garlic
  • some dill seeds

Directions:

  1. Put water, vinegar, and salt into a pot and bring to a boil
  2. Put pickles, onion, garlic, and dill in a deep bowl
  3. Pour brine over pickles and let sit on the counter a couple hours
  4. Put in the frig for about 5 days and pickles are ready to eat
  5. They won't last forever like commercial, but you'll eat them long before they go bad.
  6. If you can't find pure salt without the caking stuff don't worry too much. They'll be okay but the brine will turn an off color.
