Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Combine Red River Cereal and bran.
  3. Pour boiling water on it.
  4. Stir to combine and let stand 10 minutes.
  5. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Cream shortening and sugar.
  7. Stir in eggs.
  8. Stir in buttermilk.
  9. Stir in flour mixture.
  10. Stir in bran mixture.
  11. Stir in oats and raisins.
  12. Mix thoroughly.
  13. Fill greased muffin cups almost full.
  14. Bake at 375 degrees F for 18-24 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched.
  15. Remove from pan and cool on a rack.
