Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp butter or 2 tbsp margarine
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 4 (19 oz) cans beans
  • 6 slices bacon

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients except bacon in crockpot. Arrange bacon in spoke formation on top. Cook 4 hours or until done.
  2. OR Preheat oven to 350. In skillet melt butter over low hear. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened. Add other ingredients and heat through. Place in baking dish-level with spatula. Arrange uncooked bacon on top in spoke formation. Bake uncovered 40-45 minutes.
