Raspberry Wine Vinegar

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz white wine vinegar .... 1 1/2 cups
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 - 1 1/2 cups fresh red raspberries

Directions:

  1. Combine vinegar and sugar in a non aluminum 2-quart sauce pan
  2. Heat until very hot, stirring occasionally
  3. DO NOT BOIL.... ( if the vinegar boils it will become cloudy)
  4. Pour into a bowl or a 1 quart glass jar
  5. Stir in raspberries...
  6. Cover with plastic wrap..
  7. Let stand in a cool place for 1 week or until the desired amount of flavor develops...
  8. Strain through fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth twice
  9. Store up to 6 months in a bottle or jar with a tight lid in the refrigerator
  10. Makes 2 cups of vinegar
