Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp clove, ground
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups flour , all purpose
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour , all purpose
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. In a medium sauce pan over medium high heat add the sugar, raisins, water, butter, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and salt.
  2. Bring to a boil and gently boil for 3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool (about 20 minutes).
  4. Preheat oven to 350°.
  5. Add other ingredients (except for the topping), to sauce pan and blend well.
  6. Spread in greased 10x15 pan.
  7. Combine all topping ingredients in a small bowl.
  8. Crumble topping over and press down slightly.
  9. Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes.
  10. Cool before cutting.
