Portuguese Bean Soup

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Wash & drain beans.
  2. In an 8 qt kettle, bring water to boil.
  3. Add beans, ham, tomato sauce, onion,garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer covered 5 hrs (you could use a crock pot).
  5. Add potatoes, carrots, cabage, and spaghetti.
  6. Bring to a boil.
  7. Reduce heat and simmer uncoverd 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  8. Remove ham.
  9. Remove meat from the bone and cube.
  10. Return meat to soup.
  11. Serve with garlic bread and salad.
