Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350*F
  2. Grease 8X8X2 baking pan
  3. In medium bowl, beat sugar and shortening until fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  5. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into sugar mixture. Stir in nuts. Spread batter into well-greased pan. Bake 25 minutes.
  6. Cut into 2X1 pieces. I recommend removing the bars from the baking pan soon. (under 10 mins after leaving oven). Otherwise, they get hard and crumble when removing from pan.
