Peanut Butter Texas Sheet Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 cup. flour
  • 2 cup. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1 cup. water
  • 1 tsp.. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup. buttermilk ( or 1/2 cup. milk + 1tsp. vinegar)
  • chopped peanuts (optional)
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/3 cup. + 1 tsp. milk
  • 1 tsp.. vanilla

Directions:

  1. CAKE:
  2. Sift first four ingredients together and set aside.
  3. Bring margarine, water and peanut butter to a boil and add to flour mixture.
  4. In another bowl, combine eggs, vanilla and buttermilk.
  5. Add to peanutbutter batter.
  6. Pour into a greased 10x15 pan and bake at 350F for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Ice cake while still warm and sprinkle with chopped peanuts if desired.
  8. FROSTING:
  9. Bring margarine, peanut butter and milk to a boil, remove from heat. Add powdered sugar and vanilla.
