Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups raw peanuts
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

Directions:

  1. In iron frying pan, mix the sugar,syrup, water and salt.
  2. Bring this to a boil.
  3. Add the peanuts and cook over med-high heat stirring constantly approx.
  4. 15 minutes.
  5. Do NOT Scorch.
  6. Peanuts will crack.
  7. When mixture turns golden, remove from heat and add baking soda.
  8. Pour onto a greased cookie sheet and cool.
  9. Break into pieces when cool.
