Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup = 1.6 dl
  • 50 g butter = 3.50 tbsp or 10.5 tsp
  • vanilla , almond , cardamom or choose something you prefer as flavouring
  • 1 litre = 10 dl = (more than ) 2 pints
  • 1 decilitre = (less than) 1/2 cup
  • 1 deciliter = 0.1 liter
  • 8 oz (1/2 lb) = 250 g

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C or 350 F or Gas Mark 4.
  2. Melt the butter.
  3. Mix all ingredients (eggs, cream, almond flour, butter and the flavouring).
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes in a 180 C or 350 F oven until it looks lightly browned.
  5. Topping:
  6. Strawberry quark
  7. 250 g quark
  8. 120 g soured cream
  9. Strawberries
  10. Mix all together. It depends where you are living but if you haven't heard of quark then you can use yogurt with a higher fat content.
  11. Quark:
  12. Quark (or qvark) is a type of fresh cheese from Central Europe. Dictionaries usually translate it as curd cheese. It is soft, white and un-aged, similar to Fromage frais, but with a higher fat content. It is not the same thing as cream cheese or cottage cheese. Some have compared it to ricotta. It is distinctly different from ricotta because ricotta (Italian: recooked) is made from scalded whey.
