Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. of cut okra
  • 1 1/4 cup. of cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup. of bacon drippings
  • 2 1/2 cup. pf canned tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp. of sugar
  • 1/2 cup. of catsup
  • 1 medium. chopped onion
  • salt & pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. First you want to mix egg and okra in a regular bowl.
  2. Next coat the okra with cornmeal.
  3. Now fry the okra in pan drippings over a medium flame.
  4. Next add the tomatoes, sugar, catsup, onion and bell pepper.
  5. Then cover and simmer until vegetables are tender.
  6. Season and serve!
