Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins or 1/2 cup currants

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients: flour, oats, sugar, baking powder, cream of tarter and salt.
  2. In a small bowl, combine wet ingredients: butter,milk and egg,
  3. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix, only until moist.
  4. Add raisins (or currents).
  5. Shape into a ball.
  6. Pat out on a lightly floured board into an 8 inch circle.
  7. Cut into 8-12 wedges.
  8. Bake on a greased cookie sheet in a 425 degree oven for 12-15 minutes or until brown.
