Ingredients:

  • oprah had chef tyler florence on yesterday. he shared some recipes. the 1 that stood out to me was cooking oatmeal with apple juice instead of water. here's the recipe
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • toppings
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • begin by cooking the oatmeal. pour oatmeal and applesauce into the pot, and set over medium heat. cook for 7 to 8 minutes until oatmeal is creamy and tender. stir in cinnamon and butter, and keep warm until ready to eat. prepare toppings and serve with oatmeal.

Directions:

  1. I eyeball everything and hardly ever measure:
  2. I cooked enough for 2 servings:
  3. Apple Juice (2 parts)
  4. Water (1 part)
  5. Frozen peaches (2 slices)
  6. Frozen mangos (4 cubes)
  7. Frozen pineapples (4 cubes)
  8. Small handful of sliced almonds
  9. Ground cinnamon (few dashes)
  10. Ground ginger (few dashes)
  11. Pure vanilla extract (a few drops)
  12. Honey (few drops)
  13. It was a bit sweet, so add water to your liking, or omit the honey. It was hardy and delicious, enjoy!
