Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 2/3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup whole milk or 1/4 cup cream

Directions:

  1. Mix oats and boiling water; set aside for 20 min.
  2. Cream butter& sugars thoroughly.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Blend in oatmeal mixture Sift together remaining dry ingredients.
  5. Fold into batter.
  6. Stir in vanilla Pour into greased and floured 9 by 13 inch pan Bake in a 350 oven for 30 to 35 mins While the cake is baking, mix all topping ingredients thoroughly after baking, but before the cake cools, spread the topping on and broil about 2 minutes or until it turns golden brown and delicious watch it carefully though bc the sugar will caramalize& then BURN!
  7. (which doesnt taste very good).
