Mocha Brownies With Cinnamon Cream-Cheese Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 4 (1 oz) unsweetened chocolate squares
  • 2/3 cup butter or 2/3 cup margarine
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 (3 oz) packages cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. For Brownies:.
  2. Melt the chocolate and butter together over very low heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Set the mixture asied.
  4. Beat the eggs.
  5. Gradually beat in the sugar until the eggs are light and fluffy.
  6. Add the vanilla.
  7. Stir in the chocolate mixture and mix well.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  9. Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and coffee powder.
  10. Stir into the first mixture.
  11. Fold in the nuts.
  12. Pour into a greased 9x13 pan.
  13. Bake 30 minutes.
  14. Cool, frost if you like, then cut into squares.
  15. For Frosting:.
  16. Cream together sugar and cream cheese.
  17. Add the milk, vanilla and cinnamon.
  18. If too thin, firm up with additional confectioner's sugar.
  19. Frost the brownies after they're cool.
