Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Place beans in large saucepan and cover with cold water.
  2. Bring to the boil and simmer 2 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stand covered for 1 hour.
  4. Drain and reserve liquid.
  5. In a small bowl combine syrup, sauce, onion salt and mustard.
  6. Place 1/2 the beans in a 1 quart casserole dish.
  7. Top with diced pork or bacon.
  8. Add remaining beans.
  9. Pour maple syrup mixture over beans.
  10. Add 1 1/2 cups of reserved bean liquid.
  11. Cover and bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours.
  12. Stir occasionally and add more reserved liquid id need be to keep beans moist.
