Layered Cabbage Bake

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 14 oz tomato
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Directions:

  1. Chop cabbage leaves, then cover with boiling water 5 minutes, or until limp.
  2. Brown ground beef and onion, drain.
  3. Beat eggs.
  4. Combine all but cabbage.
  5. Layer 1/2 of cabbage in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  6. Cover with meat and tomato mixture.
  7. Place remaining leaves on top.
  8. Cover and bake 350 degrees for 90 minutes.
  9. Freezes well in individual portions for later use.
