Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Soak bread crumbs in the milk.
  2. In a large bowl combine ground beef, nutmeg, salt, and eggs.
  3. Saute onion in butter until soft, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir onions and bread/milk mixture into ground beef.
  5. Allow to sit 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  7. Place rack on large baking pan.
  8. Form 25-30 meatballs placing on rack.
  9. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
  10. Remove pan from oven and turn meatballs over.
  11. Bake another 20 minutes.
  12. Remove cooked meatballs from pan.
  13. Pour off grease.
  14. Pour beef broth in pan over rack.
  15. Let soak for 20 minutes to loosen baked on goodies.
  16. Scrape pan and rack.
  17. Set aside.
  18. Mix 2-3 tablespoons flour in 1/2 cup half and half until smooth.
  19. Pour in saucepan with remainder of half and half and beef broth with pan scrapings.
  20. Mix well and bring to simmer over medium heat stirring frequently.
  21. Add concentrated beef broth and tamari; taste and adjust seasonings - you may want more tamari or beef broth concentrate.
  22. When thick add meatballs.
  23. Serve over egg noodles.
