Ingredients:

  • 1 1/8 cups lukewarm water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp caraway seed
  • 1 1/2 tsp fast rise yeast

Directions:

  1. Combine according to your manufacturer's directions.
  2. Success Hints: Golden raisins give this bread its light flavor and look.
  3. Dark raisins may be subsituted but will make a darker, slightly heavier loaf.
  4. The sugar in the raisins creates a darker crust; use your machine's light crust setting if it has one.
  5. Dried butter milk can generally be found in the baking goods section of your supermarket.
  6. If you can't find buttermilk, regular dried milk can be substituted.
  7. If using delayed time bake, place raisins atop dry ingredients away from liquid.
  8. This recipe can be made using the regular, rapid and delayed time bake cycles.
