Hot Roll Moravian Sugar Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 (16 oz) package hot roll mix
  • 3/4 cup warm water (105* to 115*)
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup margarine or 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:

  1. Grease 13x9-inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast from hot roll mix in warm water.
  3. Stir in half of flour from hot roll mix and remaining ingredients; beat 2 minutes at medium speed.
  4. Stir in remaining flour from hot roll mix; beat well.
  5. Cover loolely with plastic wrap and cloth until light and doubled in size, about 45 minutes.
  6. Stir down dough; spread in prepared pan.
  7. Cover; let rise in warm place until light and doubled in size, about 45 minutes.
  8. Heat oven to 375*.
  9. Make small pockets in dough by pressing lightly with floured fingertip.
  10. Sprinkle brown sugar-cinnamin mixture over dough.
  11. Drizzle with melted margarine; sprinkle with nuts.
  12. Bake at 375* for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
