Homemade Yeast Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 3 package rapid rise yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 9 cups plain flour
  • 4 cups warm water
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 3 tsp olive oil

Directions:

  1. Combine yeast and 1 cup water.
  2. Let stand for 15-20 minutes until foamy.
  3. Combine flour, salt and sugar.
  4. Add yeast mixture, olive oil and enough of the remaining water to get a nice, but sticky, dough
  5. Let rise covered in a warm place until doubled.
  6. Punch down and let rise again.
  7. Punch down and form into small balls.
  8. Brush with melted butter.
  9. Let rise again
  10. Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes until golden
  11. You can chop up cold butter to mix into dough before making small balls if you like.
