Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 2/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 medium gingerroot, grated (about 3 tsp.) or 3 tsp ground ginger

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar and boiling water; cook and stir until sugar dissolves, creating a sugar-and-water syrup. You should have approximately 1/4 cup syrup.
  2. Cut sirloin in 1-1/2-inch cubes. Marinate about 10 minutes in sauce made by combining sugar-and-water syrup with remaining ingredients.
  3. Thread on skewers. Broil or grill about 7 minutes or until desired doneness. Turn and brush frequently with sauce. Heat remaining sauce and pass with beef.
