Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Beat eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon in a shallow bowl or small baking pan.
  2. Dip bread into egg mixture (don't soak the bread for too long) and coat both sides.
  3. Melt butter in skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add bread in batches and cook 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  5. Add more butter as needed.
  6. Serve the toast warm with syrup, jam, or powdered sugar. (I often serve them with Strawberry Sauce).
  7. Strawberry Sauce
  8. 1 pt. strawberries, hulled
  9. 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  10. 2 tbsp. lemon juice
  11. Cut strawberries into halfes. Saute strawberries, sugar and lemon juice until it becomes sauce-like. Makes about 1 2/3 cups.
