Fig and Walnut Brie Galette

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a medium skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add figs and walnuts and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add port and nutmeg and cook for 2 minutes stirring occasionally.
  5. Add sugar, cook for 1 minute.
  6. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  7. Add 2 tbs beaten egg and combine well.
  8. On a floured parchment paper, lay pie crust flat.
  9. Cut the brie in half horizontally.
  10. Place the bottom layer of brie in the center of the pie crust and top with half of the fig mixture.
  11. Replace top of brie and layer on the remaining fig mixture.
  12. Pull up crust over the sides of brie, leaving the filling exposed.
  13. Brush crust with remaining egg.
  14. Bake for 15-18 minutes until crust is golden.
  15. Cool 10 minutes and slice in wedges to serve.
