Fabulous Chicken Cacciatore

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices bacon, cut small
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 4 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 (3 lb) chicken, cut up
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Directions:

  1. In large dutch oven sauté bacon until brown.
  2. Add onions, garlic, and mushrooms, cook 1 minute.
  3. Add tomato sauce, salt, oregano, Italian seasoning and pepper.
  4. In another skillet, heat olive oil and brown chicken on all sides.
  5. Add chicken to sauce, cover and simmer for 45 minutes or until chicken is tender.
  6. Serve over hot spaghetti.
