Easy Delicious No-knead Whole Wheat Bread

Ingredients:

  • combine in a large mixer bowl
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 3 packages dry yeast (not rapid rise)
  • heat in a saucepan until very warm (120-130)
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • warmed liquids

Directions:

  1. WIth dough hook or paddle blend all the above at low speed in the same mixer bowl until moistened
  2. Beat at medium speed 3 minutes
  3. THEN STIR IN BY HAND *5-6 cups white unbleached flour*
  4. Use enough flour of the white flour to form a stiff batter
  5. Leave in same bowl
  6. Cover and let rise until doubled (can use clean tea towel, or Saran Wrap)
  7. Stir down, and spoon into * 2 * greased 9 X 5 inch loaf pans
  8. Let rise about 30 minutes
  9. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes
  10. When done, bread will sound hollow when thumped
  11. Turn out on rack to cool*
  12. *If you have no will power, go ahead and slice with a bread knife very carefully. Some of the steam will escape, and the slice that you are cutting might collapse abit, but it is worth it just to savor that delicious taste of freshly baked bread. Have a stick of unsalted butter nearby, and you are there! ENJOY. :)
