Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2-2 cups nuts (or you can have half of each) or 1 1/2-2 cups dried fruits (or you can have half

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs; mix well.
  2. Sift dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients alternately with liquid.
  3. Fold in fruit and/or nuts. Add vanilla.
  4. Drop by spoonful on a greased baking sheet. Cookies will be more uniform if they do not touch while baking.
  5. Bake at 375F for 10 minutes.
