  1. Beat butter and shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugars, beating until blended. Add eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla, beating until blended.
  2. Combine flour, soda, and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating well. Stir in morsels, oats, and pecans.
  3. Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets.
  4. Bake at 350° for 15 to 16 minutes or until golden around edges. Remove to wire racks to cool.
