Cream of Tomato Soup

Ingredients:

  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 dash cayenne
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 quart scalded milk
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 dash garlic salt
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Cook tomatoes, onion, salt, pepper, cayenne and sugar together for 15 minutes.
  2. Strain.
  3. Melt butter, blend in flour, add milk gradually, stirring constantly.
  4. Add tomato mixture gradually to milk, stirring constantly. Serve hot.
