Cranberry Cheese Cake With Creamy Butter Sauce

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In mixing bowl cream eggs and sugar then add sour cream and vanilla.
  2. In a small bowl combine cranberries, almonds and 2 tablespoons flour then toss to coat.
  3. In a separate bowl combine remaining flour, baking soda and baking powder.
  4. Blend into sour cream mixture then fold in cranberry mixture.
  5. Spread batter into a greased and floured rectangular pan.
  6. In a small bowl combine mascarpone and orange zest then drop by spoonfuls over batter.
  7. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes then allow to cool completely.
  8. Combine sugar, cream and whiskey in a medium saucepan then boil 2 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat then add vanilla and let cool 5 minutes.
  10. Stir in butter one piece at a time until all of the butter has been incorporated into sauce.
  11. Serve at room temperature over cake.
