  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a bowl combine flour, baking soda, and salt, set aside. In a mixing bowl combine butter, shortening, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Beat in eggs. gradually add flour mixture, until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips, coconut, and walnuts. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
