Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 edd
  • 1/2 cup hot coffee
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup currants

Directions:

  1. Cream together butter, sugar and egg.
  2. Stir in coffee and dry ingredientd, which have been sifted together.
  3. Add currants and walnuts.
  4. Spread in greased 13 x 9 inch oblong pan.
  5. Bake 350 degrees 15 to 20 minutes.
  6. Frost with plain icing while warm.
  7. Cut into bars.
  8. Makes 2 dozen 1 1/2 x 3 inch bars.
  9. Plain icing:
  10. 1 cup sifted confectioners sugar, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and enough cream to make it spread easy.
