Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 lb butter
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 6 tsp milk

Directions:

  1. -ICING-.
  2. COMBINE BUTTER, COCOA, AND MILK.
  3. HEAT TO BOILING.
  4. POUR OVER SUGAR AND NUTS.
  5. SPREAD ON HOT CAKE (I LIKE TO POKE HOLES IN CAKE WITH FORK TO LET THE ICING OOZE INTO THE CAKE).
  6. -CAKE-.
  7. Combine sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in large bowl.
  8. Mix well.
  9. Heat butter and water to boiling.
  10. Pour over dry ingredients, mix well.
  11. Beat in buttermilk, eggs, vanilla.
  12. Pour THIN batter into greased and floured sheet pan.
  13. BAKE AT 400F degrees FOR 20 MINUTES.
  14. REMOVE CAKE FROM OVEN AND POUR ON THE FROSTING.
