Chocolate Crispy Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 (6 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 1/2 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream , whipped

Directions:

  1. For crust:.
  2. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add chips and melt.
  4. Add rice cereal and mix til well coated.
  5. Place in greased 9 pie plate and press well to bottom and up the sides.
  6. Chill 30 minutes or until firm.
  7. For pudding:.
  8. In saucepan, combine first 3 ingredients.
  9. Whisk in cold water until thick paste forms.
  10. Gradually whisk in boiling water.
  11. Cook over medium heat, whisking all the while, until the mixture thickens.
  12. About 10 minute.
  13. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla.
  14. Transfer to a bowl.
  15. Place a piece of cling wrap on surface to pervent a skin from forming.
  16. Cool pudding
  17. Pour into cooled pie shell and refrigerate for 2 hours or until set.
  18. Top with whipped cream.
  19. Cook time includes the 2 hour chill time.
