Ingredients:

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • frosting
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 6 tbsp buttermilk
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 16 oz box powdered sugar (4 cups)
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Directions:

  1. Cake:
  2. Mix dry ingredients together.
  3. Melt butter, and mix with add water, cocoa and buttermilk.
  4. Add to dry mix.
  5. Beat eggs and vanilla and add to mix.
  6. Bake for about 20 minutes at about 375 degrees.
  7. Frosting:
  8. Melt all ingredients together. Ice the cake while slightly warm.
